Model 824E Sno-Away (1999), Model 1524E (2005) and Model 1728E (2010) Snowblowers

by Joseph G. S.
(Cedarburg, WI)

I buy only Simplicity snow blowers. Period. There are other brands that are good, I'm sure. But, these Signature Pro top-of-the-line machines are work horses and are built like tanks.

I just gave the Model 824E Sno-Away (11 years old) to my son, since he bought his first house (in Milwaukee, WI) and needed a snowblower. That machine still starts on the first pull and has hardly shown its age. Prior to that, I had a Simplicity 7 HP snowblower, when my son was a small boy.

Now, the Model 1524E, which I have at my house in Cedarburg, WI, has the Power Boost (an amazing feature!) and looks like new. I just bought a new Model 1728E (also with Power Boost) for my lake property in northern Wisconsin, where I have a 400' long driveway.

These machines live up to their reputations and will last forever if you take care of them. I look forward to a 10" dump of snow just because it is so much fun to operate them.

I am an Engineer, so I have studied all the features of Simplicity as well as other brands of snowblowers. I may not ever again buy a snowblower, only because these Simplicity beasts will probably outlive me.
