Power Brush Snowblowers
Sweep Through Snow Effortlessly

Power brush snowblowers are heavy duty snow removal equipment that are primarily used for dealing with extreme snow conditions. These snowblowers are so powerful they come with huge brushes that simply sweep snow away.

The brushes are made of wire bristles that rotate to effectively scrape or flick snow off the surface without damaging the surface. These are highly effective against heavy snow due to the size of the brushes, and since the brushes touch the surface, they are more effective and thorough than the augers found in two stage machines.

Power brushes are not widely used in residential applications. Instead, they are commonly used in commercial areas such as malls. If you have such purposes in mind or if you get a lot of snow where you live, you will find that these power brushes work wonderfully in the winter.

The Added Advantage

To make things even better, power brush snowblowers are not just great in the winter. Aside from sweeping snow, the brushes can also be used to clear any debris from the floor. They can be especially useful during fall, when you have fallen leaves instead of snow to worry about. They can also be used to remove grass clippings after you cut grass. That’s why these snowblowers are also called all season equipment.

#1 Ariens Power Brush 36 Power Brush>

Ariens is one of the limited number of brands that offer power brush snowblowers, and they provide two different models. The first is the larger, which is called simply as Power Brush 36 due to its 36-inch clearing width. To match the power of the huge brush, the machine is powered by a 265cc all-season Subaru engine that can tackle both winter and other season usage. And to make sure you don’t come across any difficulty in starting the gas engine, Ariens makes sure there is a 120-volt electric start. In case of power outage, though, you can stick to the conventional recoil, which is added as backup.

The Ariens Power Brush comes with a 5.7 quart for the fuel plus 6 forward and 2 reverse speeds. The brush also pivots using a remote trigger. To match the movement and strength of te brush, the directional snow tread tires are 16 inches in size and are supported by automatic traction control. With the all steel construction of this machine, you will surely get many years out of your investment.

#2 Ariens Power Brush 28 Power Brush

If the 36-incher is too big for you, you can also buy the Ariens Power Brush 28, a smaller version with a 28-inch clearing width. This is powered by a 169cc EX17 Subaru engine, which is also an all season engine for all around use. The engine is matched by a wheel drive system that has gathered popularity due to the Ariens Sno-Thro snowblowers collection.

The Ariens Power Brush 28 has most of the features in its larger counterpart. These include the 120 volt electric start with recoil backup, variable forward and reverse speeds, and automatic traction control to give the 15-inch directional snow tread tires a better grip. The machine is then packed in an all steel construction for durability. No wonder Ariens gives a 3 year warranty for this model.

MB All Season 24 Power Brush

If you’re looking for a smaller snow blower for medium-range snow clearing tasks and you prefer power brush snowblowers, you can check out the MB All Season Power Brush, which has a 24-inch clearing width. This provides better cleaning power than an ordinary snow blower because it uses wire bristles that scrapes snow off the pavement more effectively. This gives it the confidence to move up to 6 inches of snow, and it can even sweep your driveways and pick up stray leaves during other seasons.

All these are thanks to the all season 4 cycle OHV Briggs and Stratton Vanguard engine with a 205cc engine displacement. The machine also boasts of a self propelled drive that allows the brush to turn at a speed of 350 RPM. The only limitation is that the machine has only one forward and one reverse speed, giving you no options.

Thankfully, the same cannot be said about the brush head, which has a pivoting motion that can be easily controlled without moving from your position as the machine operator. The brush can turn toward the left and the right up to a 15 degree angle. As a bonus, the machine also comes with a 24-inch refillable wafer core brush. At the back of the brush, there are large pneumatic tires that effectively gets a grip on snow and other surfaces.

How to Choose Power Brush Snowblowers

If you’re planning to buy a power brush snow blower, make sure to look for one with a good engine and the right brush size measured by clearing width. Since these machines come with gas engines, look for an electric start feature since gas engines are known for being hard to start. And since these machines are designed for heavy duty snow removal, make sure the tires provide good traction and are confident in size. These are the most important things you should consider when buying a power brush.
