This Troy-Bilt Storm 2410 was purchased at Lowe's in the fall of 2010. The winter of 2010/2011 had a series of up to 2" snowfalls with one heavy one, so I only used this snowblower twice--the first time because I just wanted to try it out and one other time when the snow was 6" or so. It did a good job. Now, here in December of 2011, getting ready for a predicted heavy snow season, I tried to start this Storm 2410, but it will not go, even with electric start. The oil was changed and the spark plug was cleaned. It seems that "Consumer Reports" fell down with their review of this item. One has to consider how products stack up beyond the initial use out of the box. Product quality depends upon their outcome year after year. This is one snowblower to avoid. It's a shame, because Troy-Bilt used to be a good brand name. One has to ask why such products have gone down in quality over the recent years.

piece of junk by: Anonymous
I bought this useless blower at Lowes in 2008, it worked fine for the one snow we had thats about 40 minutes work for me. The next year 2009 it would not start. wasn't much snow so I did't care too much, still upset me though. this year, same thing, would not start after I changed the gas because I thought it was old but that made no difference. tried everything.Still under warrenty the first year and Lowes actually tried to fix it twice, but still it refuses to work from one year to another. An employee who helped me out to my truck with it told me the troybilts are the most worthless pieces of junk he has ever seen and they ALL end up coming back to be fixed and only temporarily. Anyway I got so upset with it I sold it on craigslist for $100.
I paid over $500 for it but I was never so glad to get rid of something even at that loss of money.

2410 won't start by: Anonymous
This 2410 was bought at Lowes in Altoona Iowa. 2nd snow fall in 2008 and the starter quit working, took it back to Lowes and they gave her a new one. Worked the rest of the season. This year,2009, the same thing happened. She called TroyBilt said to take it to repair shop. Repair shop let it warm up and it started then told her there was dead spot in the starter and charged her $31. Went up to her place for x-mas and it did the same thing, starter wouldn't engage. I went to repair shop and talked to them and he told me it might have a china made engine on it and would have to contact TroyBilt for repair autho, I asked why he didn't do that the first time. answer was it started, I said no it wasn't starting. Now she has to take it back into the shop. I checked the internet for parts and the troybilt page took me right to the MTD parts page. WTF it's an MTD you have to be kidding me. DO NOT ever buy one of these snowblowers EVER. My MTD has for many years, last year I put a starter drive in and it starts evertime. I told that story to the repair shop and he started two-stepping for me, maybe this will take care of it, maybe not. The TroyBilt saga continues

Best I've ever owned! by: Ron in Nebraska
After receiving 23 inches of snow in the past 2 weeks, 2 of the snows were 10 inch storms, the Troy Bilt Storm 2410 was a champ! I would buy it again in a heart beat and recommend to anyone who will listen.
